I am a post-doctoral researcher in the Antibiotic Resistance IRG of the Singapore-MIT

Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART), and a visiting researcher at SCELSE

Environmental Institute of Nanyang Technological University (NTU),

advised by Prof. Jianzhu Chen (MIT) and Prof. Kimberly Kline (University of Geneva).

Previously, I got my PhD in Molecular Microbiology at the University of Nottingham (UK) and

my BSc in Biochemistry at Universidade Federal de Viçosa (Brazil).

My research interests lie in the intersection of host-pathogen interactions, antibiotic resistance and

the development of new therapies designed to harness the power of the immune system to tackle infections.

My current research focuses on:

1- Targeting Macrophages to Control Infection

2- The Intracellular Lifestyle of Enterococcus faecalis

3- Exploring the Role of Small Proteins in the Ability of Enterococcus faecalis to Infect and Persist in Macrophages
